California Speeding Law
There are two types of speeding laws in California. Basic speeding law requires driving a reasonable and prudent speed regarding weather, road condition, traffic, etc., and a driver must not in any circumstances endanger others on the road. Maximum speed limit law requires a driver to obey posted speed limit at any time. If you see a sign with posted speed limit, slow down to that speed. It does not matter whether you are the only car on the street. One mph over is a violation of law and you could get a ticket. Do not speed if you do not want to get a ticket.
