But first your child has to be a QUALIFYING PERSON.

To find out if your child is a QUALIFYING PERSON, you need to go to PUB501.

One example: Not just parents can claim as HOH. Anyone who legally raises the child and satisfied other requirements can claim as HOH. If your theory is right, numerous people could claim as HOH out of one particular child. obviously that's not right.
