请教猫版主和各位高人关于Independent contract

请教猫版主和各位高人：
本人是一家公司S的Independent contract 在A公司某部门工作。现在A公司另一部门决定给我full time 工作。但是之前和S 公司签有Non-compete clause： " I acknowledge that I will not join the Client to which I am assigned by the company without a written approval from the Company during the period of engagement with the Client and or a period six months after completion of the engagement".

我和S 公司联系希望得到许可，可是他们说: "you are breaking the contract, prepare to hear from attorney" 请问有何办法可以和他们协商? 如果我没有得到 "written approval" 而接受offer， 后果会如何？
