My town contacted me a week ago, asking for sewer easement (stormwater) across my land. They sent me engineering documents and would like to schedule a meeting so we can ask questions. After online googling, I found it is highly potential that the property value will drop with easement. Excuses including not being able to add any builing structure on the easement land, land being used for regular maintenance which might break privacy..
The project should was proposed 4 years ago and we sent a letter to town saying it was OK. Due to budget reason, the town did not start the project during the past years. I would like to know if we are still able to change our mind and say no to the Town, since we did not sign any legal documents with town.
Under what situation should I need a property attorney to involve?
Any input or past experience will be highly appreciated! Happy holiday!
