Generally speaking you may, although more details are needed to evaluate. You need to show that you reasonably relied upon the instructions of the tool and it was foreseeable that it would cause damages to the car. The causual chain can be broken if reliance is unreasonable. For example, if you knew the tool was wrong or an ordinary mechanic would know.
