回复:how to correct an error in an divorce agreement (years old)?

Normally a divorce decree is final and you cannot change it. The law, however, does provide some grounds that you can modify the decree. For example, unsettled property that the court retained jurisdiction. This normally happens when one party has a pension that is not vested or matured at divorce. In CA for example, if you find that the other party committed a fraud in the division of property, you may request a modification of the decree. In such cases the statute of limitation is usually one to three years. You may check the law in your state. I doubt it will be much different than that of CA. The attitude of law in any state in this country is normally: get over the divorce and get on your separate life. In that sense, no law would provide relief if the injustice is substantial and if it is too long after divorce.
