昨天没人回, 再次请求.
4/21约造20年出租房子下水道堵了. 请plumber 通. 发现有石子堵在driveway下面的下水道里. 估计公共street 下水道管裂了.
1. 给city打电话, city 不负责, 但要求我们买permit并交押金$1650才可挖street.
2. 给sewer service dept打电话, 他们也不负责- the home owner is responsible for the line from the property to the mainline.
04/25 driveway 和street 挖开, 石子取出, 下裂的水道管换好了. plumber当时估价 $12K.
3. plumber请sewer dept inspector 检查(inspection is city required for plumber), 没通过. Inspector 讲- pipe is back pitched. The pipe should pitch from the house toward the main line, but it is not pitched correctly. He would not let us pass the inspection unless the pitch is corrected.
4. plumber 必须挖掘所有从我房子到 mainline sewer 经过street 并且到街对面邻居家
的草坪共100 feet. 此时估价升到 $20K
5.我们还要负责修复street, 邻居家的草坪和我家driveway. 总共需要$35K现金.
面对修复的惨重损失,我们财力窘迫, 不知如何争取到赔偿? 保险公司?如果保险公司不负责.
我认为公共服务部门(city or sewer service dept)有负责,
房主如果只负责取石子, 裂的水道管换好, 是无可争辩. 但负责整个管道重新造型.不合理. 费用超出一般修理的4-5倍
pipe is back pitched 的原因是什么? 是开始就造的不对? 还是20年来变形?
the city and the original excavator should both liable for the claim, the pitch of your gravity sewer pipes were wrongly installed in the beginning, if the city passed the first time, so should the second time...
为什么street 下水道管裂了?
我房子地势低,下雨后总有水堆积在street上, 有相片. 给city打电话几次. 没人管. 长期以来水压造成street 下水道管裂.
