If there is only 100 meters to travel, and you wait 1 minute to merge, your speed is about 3miles/hour, which is way too slow on any road, not to mention highway.
I do assume you have your time wrong. Still, the fact that the other car hit middle of your car, it makes it very clear that it is your fault. (The other lady could be just normal speed on the left lane. Might be at your black spot and you did not see.)
