help! Black heart hospital and dr.

我一个朋友不小心怀孕，然后选择流产，现在刚受到医院的账单，竟然要$15，000美元医院帐单，而且保险公司不支付这份支出，因为不是medically necessary。她只是在医院呆2-3小时作手术，怎么会有这么多钱？
另外，麻醉帐单是1500 美元,保险公司付$350, this is all paid by insurance。医生那边还是个未知数。
之前她也不知道保险公司不付，之前，保险公司同意手术，但是没有说要付多少，(payemnt determination upon receive claims.) 医生也没有事先说。医院原来告诉只需要付250美元，现在医院要我的朋友自己支付。
请问，姐妹们有过这样的经历吗？请给些建议。谢谢！！She is asking the hospital to provide detailed bills. Other than that, what can she do?
