Have you ever sue a landlord

for keeping your entire damage deposit? Recently I moved to a new place in a hurry and didn't have time to clean the carpet in the old apt. I got her message that she was very disappointed that I damaged the carpet! There are just three obvious stains on the carpet in the living home(18 feet by 18 feet). I was outragous after her email. I hired a carpet specialist to do the estimation. They said that fixing the carpet is less than $200. But the landlord withheld $600!
This is her messages:
When you took posession of the apartment

I'm very angry that she threatened me in her email and said that she could take me to the court because there are some stains on the carpet! She should have simply done the professional estimation before she said craps like that. What would you do if you were in my shoes?
