new jersey。 原房东来信称repair cost $2400, 减去deposit $1600, 我们还需付$800。没有repair item list, 也没有算deposit利息。我查了new jersey 租房手册,房东应每年通知deposit利息。住了两年,我们也没问他们。现在请教老猫及各位熟悉法律的网友,
1,deposit利息现在过问晚不晚,能否合法要求原房东提供2007年11月以后的deposit利息信息
** interest is really trivial, I'm a landlord myself, I saved my tenant's security deposit in a seperate account which does have interest, but it's really small, so I don't even care to pay tax on this part of interest, so you can imagine.

2,在princeton area,粉刷墙壁,换地毯two bedroom加basement,total 1520 sf, $2400 cost is reasonable?
** If it does require changing carpet, then yes, it's reasonable.

3,粉刷墙壁,换地毯,这种每次move out都需要的update,能算repair cost 吗?墙壁只有搬家划的很微弱的印痕,地毯挺干净完整的,象新的。只是有些家具压的痕迹。
** carpet can be washed, if it's really dirty, then it need to changed, otherwise, I pay 150 for clearning up the carpet before I move out my 3 BR townhouse for my tenant, and it looks like new
For paint job, it's hard to say, do u have kid and painted wall a lot? If yes, then it could be quite expensive to do the paint job since he definately hire professional help and they're not chinese, so it could be expensive

4,房东能随便就能破坏房客的信用史吗?应该法庭的裁决吧?
* no, they can do that, but of cause you can sue back

5,我有权力请房东出示copy of repair cost receipts 吗?
* yes, you have every right to do so
