收养Canada 小孩

请教一问题，请大家帮忙。
我是美国公民，妻子是绿卡。自己的孩子大了。
现在，有一家是加拿大公民中国朋友（在美国）家中出难。孩子是14.5岁，父母病重，托孤于我，我们同意收养(adoption)。想知道具体操作细节。
