欠债无法还怎么办

一个很好的朋友之前欠了信用卡的债务，后来因为失去工作，无力偿还，就找了freedom debt 作了settle，在继续偿还了一段时间以后，朋友的工作还是没有找到，还欠freedom debt 8千多块，因为在国内找到了工作，朋友匆忙的回了国。但是很担心自己的这个欠债。不知道该怎么办，因这笔钱虽然不大，但他长时间没有工作，还是有些困难。可以有什么办法解决这个问题呢？朋友不打算再来美国，但想求个心理安宁，并且不知道这笔债会不会影响他在国内或其他国家的发展。
