1. How should I defend for myself?

Your out of state license expired, and your temporary license also expired, it's pretty hard to defend yourself, so maybe you should hire a lawyer if you want to keep your record clean.

2. Will I be fined? How much usually for such case?

Most likely, don't know how much, it depends on many factors, you know, 坦白从宽, 抗拒从严 (j/k :0).

3. Will it have any bad effect on my greencard application?

Don't think so. Traffic violations like this are not criminal matters.
