买新车遭遇odometer rollback求助

昨天在dealer手里买了一辆新车。他说这辆是demonstrator car，比较便宜，上面已经有三千七百多迈了。当时想便宜点就买了。因为是digital odometer，我以为这个没有办法改的，就没有多加注意。没想到回家一查carfax，上面有一条service record，显示去年12月做过oil change & maintenance, 当时就已经5500迈了。明显dealer动过手脚。而且这个是数字里程表，不是机械里程表。这个需要有特别的软件才可以修改的。

我现在的证据有 1.买车单据上标明里程是37xx迈。也有对方的签字。
2. carfax report
3. 前车窗上贴的小条写明下次oil change是8500迈。因为是三千迈一换，所以明显上次是在5500迈的时候换的。

从网上搜索到的，如果上庭我要证明三点。

1. that your vehicle’s odometer reading was altered or misrepresented
2. who was responsible for tampering with or knowingly misrepresenting the mileage
3. this was done with an intent to defraud.

求助我现在应该怎么办？证据是否过硬？是应该找dealer私了还是应该去找政府报告这个犯罪？因为odometer rollback是federal felony。我可以去找dealer说，你退我一些钱，或者给我换一辆新车，这样我就不报告你的felony了。但是如果这么做，是不是我包庇了罪犯，自己也犯罪了呢？
