我老公被撞伤了，我们该怎么办？

我老公被一辆车撞伤了，现在intensive care unit。这是对方的责任。我已经通知双方的保险公司，但是我的保险只是liability.我正在等候对方保险公司的回复。请问，接下来我该怎么办？朋友建议我去找lawyer to deal with all the stuff. 希望有经验的朋友给我一些指教。万分感谢。
