this is a malpractice lawsuit. you need someone who specializes in malpractice. reason#1.
reasons#2: you are suing lawyer, not a doctor. you think you would know the law better than that lawyer? your initial dismissal is a good example. you need a malpractice. if you can, find a malpractice lawyer who fights lawyers.

now, how much does he want? will defending your self cost you more than giving him the money? will he spend more $ on defending his lawsuit than collecting your $?

in either case, you need a lawyer to help figure those 2 questions out.
