Update: 女儿在公立学校闯祸了

女儿的case 到今天,有了一个结论. 上来向大家做个汇报.同时也向法律咨询栏目的老猫及众xdjm 表示真诚的感谢.

前后与School Principal, District Director, District Superintendent 写了若干EMAIL, 谈了5次,共约 5小时多.其间有的谈话非常不愉快!直到今天school district 给出的结论(final decision)承认惩罚我女儿的罪名”Harassment/Cyber-bullying”不成立. 更正为”Inappropriate behavior”, 但拒绝取消 suspension. 只主动提出要在我女儿中学第一年(既七年级)结束后,进行REVIEW, 若再无事故发生,就取消(Expunge) suspension record. 这一段的经历,真的是种痛苦,让我真正感受到美国政府机关的”官官相护”. 按说,惩罚的原因都不成立了, 惩罚即该取消. 事实上并非如此. 其中有些来自他们的威胁实在非常无理和恶劣! 这里就不一一赘述了. 心里不能咽下这口气, 也正式咨询了律师(朋友的朋友), 希望能进一步pursure, 但律师表示,学校明显OVER-REACT and not fair, 但这样的CASE is very common in public school system. 也许花一年时间, 花一到两万,都不一定能上COURT. 因为公立学校有很多保护 and immune. (是这样吗?). 他建议我 MOVE ON. 绝对的公平是不存在的.

另外,女儿班上,最近有发生类似但更为严重事件(two groups of kids fighting and cursing each other for weeks on face book, and in the classroom, and one (who is the assistant teacher of the school) of the parents reported to the principal), 校长召集有关学生及家长开了会, 没敢给出任何处罚.
