公立学校入学问题, 请教老猫

老猫, 首先谢谢你,从你那儿学到很多东西, 特别是这理直气和, 很有用.

但现在我女儿入学有个很棘手的问题. 我半年多前搬到康州(connecticut).我女儿在五岁半的时候入读公立的kindergarten,只上了三个月, 还没有满六岁就要接着读一年级.我们觉得她还没有准备好,就要求让她继续读kindergarten,多方交涉遭到拒绝. 理由是学校认为她可以上一年级.

我们不久前搬了家,同一个学区,本以为她可以转学校后就可以读kingdergarten,结果又被拒绝.我们和学监交涉都没有用.本来我们打算放弃,送她读私立kindergarten算了. 但今天和邻居聊天时,说我应该向board申述. 必要时寻求法律帮助.

我想说明的是我们有充分的理由我女儿不应该上一年级. 但这些人真的太自以为是.竟然觉得比我还要了解我小孩.

我现在准备向board of education. 我准保写一封措辞强硬的信, 我可能有点太"和",忘了"理直". 我的问题是, 如果board 也拒绝, 我可以寻求什么样的法律帮助.作为小孩的监护人我纳税人, 我对我小孩上那一年级有没有决定权, 我究竟有什么权利.

送小孩去私校, 对小孩很痛苦,因为要离开她的朋友.而且也会贵很多. 关键是太不服气!
