你会让你的孩子读艺术学院吗?

我女儿快满15岁,读9年级.她从小学到现在各门功课很优秀, 全A.

她对画动画有特别的爱好. 一天到晚都在画. 动画画得也很好.中学毕业后她报考了全州排名第一和第二的高中. 考试成绩已经进入全州排名第一高中的POOL, 但由于不住在该学区, lottery 没有优选权, 没录取. 于是被我们州排名第二的高中录取, 这个高中是本州最好的艺术高中(艺术教育全州第一, 学术教育全州第二).

我劝她不要去考Art University. 原因是很可能大学毕业后找不到工作, 既是找到了也不会有很高的薪水. 因为我看见过很多visual art 的毕业生找不到工作. 每次告诉她这些, 她都不听.每次劝她改变主意,她都会哭和吵. 我要声明的是:她不是那种不听话的孩子, 而是一个很有主见的孩子.

现在我给她一个限制: 如果她能考进美国top 3 的Art University, 就去读ART, 否则就去读理工科. 她也答应行.

看来她是铁了心要上Art University了. 看她的passion, 我实在不忍心去打击她.但又的确担心她的未来和前途.

我现在很矛盾. 平时经常希望孩子有主见, 希望孩子能走自己的路, 可是一旦孩子真有主见要走自己的路, 却又希望她听我的. 但又想,她毕竟是个孩子, 做事都只凭一时的兴趣, 没有理性的选择. 如果因为我的放任导致她一辈子过得不好, 我一定会感到guilty. 更对不起她.

 

在这个坛子里的人, 谁能给我一点指导?我该如何处理这个问题?

该不该放手让她去走自己的路?

你们见过有学visual art 毕业后过的很好的例子?

别告诉我著名画家的例子, 那是少数天才, 我想知道你身边普通人的例子.
