b1. 未完成的地下室建商只给装了普通开关，装修后地下室就变了性质变成了另外一层，电路code规定楼梯间照明需要3-way控制开关，因重新连线需要，把drywall挖了个洞，然后补上。我昨天完成了drywall安装，今天开始taping, 结束今天的活之前还剩一点泥巴，顺便把这个patching做了

b2. 量好尺寸，从drywall背面用刀划出一样的尺寸，长宽各留1/8"余量，不要剌透，沿着划痕掰断，然后把中间层带背面纸背一齐撕下来，正面纸还留着。

b3. 切出接线盒，这道工序需要仔细，跟绣花差不多了，因为这块drywall比较小，动作太剧烈很容易弄坏

b4. 开孔里只有一侧有木头，另一侧不能悬空，塞进一块木板，用手扶住，用螺丝从外面固定，新的drywall patch 需要螺丝拧进这块木头并且支撑它。

b5. 摸上泥巴 (joint compound)

b6. after the first coat, 原drywall表面有primer和油漆再加上纸的厚度，新的patch被螺丝拧到了木表面，所以中间部分是凹陷的，需要用泥巴找平，drywall joint compound干了以后会收缩，所以一遍是不可能完成地，此时不要担心抹平，只要保证纸在墙上粘牢，同时注意clean mud work, 中间阶段就不用打磨，drywall taping 也是这个道理，最后一层coating之前把泥巴活干好，只在最后一次coating之后打磨，省很多事。

b7. 每天结束工作把工具洗干净，任何余留干泥巴会毁掉以前的工作，

我的drywall工具: 4" flexible putty knife, 12X4" trowel, aluminum hawk(13x13"平板托盘)
