"战时没大选" 完全是误传：美国在二战期间有两次大选：1940年 和 1944 年，

1940年， FDR vs. Republican Wendell Willkie, 罗斯福赢； 之后1944年美国总统大选， FDR vs. Republican Dewey, 罗斯福赢。限制总统任期的宪法第二十二修正案是1947年由国会通过的。

“Passed by Congress in 1947, and ratified by the states on February 27, 1951, the Twenty-Second Amendment limits an elected president to two terms in office, a total of eight years. However, it is possible for an individual to serve up to ten years as president.”
