When to come see cherry blossom?

Thank you for the advise. I'm going to Japan in April to see cherry blossom. I can only stay for 3 days, plan to visit Kyoto for cherry blossom. I want to ask when the best time would be to go. Some friends told me to come after April 15. Some web sites say first week of April. I appreciate your advice. Thank you.
