We applied for my parents last year.

The waiting list was 1000 cases at the time I applied. But canada only give parent-immigration 100 case per year for China. (Other countries are no better. South Korea only get 10 cases per year.)

Be very very patient if you plan to do so. At the same time, make your parents' life in China as comfortable as possible.
