求助退税问题

我2001年7月以J1身份在大学做postdoctal， 享受3年免税，到2004年7月是3年整，我想问如何报税？是2004年1-7月享受免税待遇，8月－12月不免税？能不能分两部分报？怎样报。谢谢！
