-Yes, of course. Just write a letter to explain it and return the NVC notice with the letter back to NVC.
还是说一定要请律师？
在给移民局写信告诉他们停止领事馆处理时还要写理由吗？
-Not need. NVC does not care about it. You pay the fee, they process your case. You request stopping the pocess, they will not process it. It does not matter to them.

请教8老师。我是美国公民。我父母2019年12月用探亲签证来美国，现在一直和我住在一起，在美国。短期内也不打算回国。我在2022年4月给他们提交了130，但是没有交485。我以为交了130就可以待在美国了，也没有给他们办探亲签证的延期。另外，在130的表上，我同时提供了在美国调整身份和领事馆面试两个选项。因为是填电子表格，移民签证面试的地点是在中国广州领事馆。我父母的130上个星期批了，但是NVC说是要联系广州大使馆让我父母去面试移民签证。我到两天前才明白我父母算是不小心没身份（快两年半了）。
现在有两几问题：1. 我想让他们在这里调整身份，不想他们回中国广州领事馆面试。我需要填什么样的表格撤销领事馆面试吗？还是说写信给移民局说明情况就可以？
-Just respond to NVC that your parents have filed I-485 Adjustment of Status within US and ask NVC to stop processing the cases in NVC. That is all.
2. 我现在就可以给他们递交485吗
-Yes, they need to file the I-485 as soon as possible now.. They had better not leave US before they get the green card because they have been unlawfully present for more than one year.
还是说得等到移民局批准我们撤销领事馆面试才成？-No
