帮朋友急问８老师：
朋友在旧公司办了绿卡，I－１４０批下来了。在新公司还没启动办绿卡，现在旧公司办的绿卡排期快到了，
１）如果旧公司的绿卡排期到了，是否不能用旧公司的I－１４０做H１B延期了？
-Yes, he/she can. But it only can be extended for one year if the petition is filed when the PD is current. However, the H-1 extension application can be filed in advance up to 180 days before the current H-1 expires, so if possible, your friend may ask the employer to file the H-1 earlier before the PD is current so that the H-1 can be extended for another 3 years.
（朋友的H１已经过了６年了。来新公司时，用旧公司的I－１４０做H１TRANSFER，TRANSFER了３年。新公司迟迟不办绿卡，H１剩下的时间也很有限，朋友现在非常焦急。）
２）如果旧公司的绿卡排期到了而不能用旧公司的I－１４０做H１B延期，是否在旧公司的绿卡排期到前让新公司做H１延期，再延期３年？
但这样是否可能有时间限制，比如在现公司H１过期前半年内才能做H１延期？
３）如果旧公司的绿卡排期到了而不能用旧公司的I－１４０做H１B延期，是否在旧公司的绿卡排期到前换公司，这样就可以通过转换工作，用旧公司的I－１４０做H１TRANSFER，可以TRANSFER３年？
4) 请问８老师可否有更好的办法？
