问一下回国结婚在这边要做的准备。先谢谢了。我现在美工作，H1-B（中国公民）。
第一，我的国内身份证过期了，这对回国结婚没影响吧？
-No. Use your passport for it.
第二，单身证明：没时间亲自去领事馆（我在Houston领馆的辖区）去做公证，就准备做认证了，毕竟认证可以让别人代办。在网上研究了好几天（不要笑话我，嘿嘿），似乎程序是这样：自己打印好那个单身声明书（中文的），

然后找一个notary public，在其面前签名，然后notary public证明签名真实，然后一级一级向上作认证，一直到州一级的认证，最后到领事馆作认证。请大侠们指教。
-Yes, but had better notarize your statement/signature in the local court house, not the bank, etc. then, send this notarized statement to your State Secretary to 认证 (ask the court house for the address) and then, send the 州认证 document to the Chinese consulate to 认证.
如果真是这样，我有个疑问：到底哪一步证实了我的单身状况？
-Your own statement 证实your单身状况. All the other procedure just sonfirm that statment is yours. If you make a fault statement, you have to be responsible for all the consequences including going to jail.
那道说所有的步骤只是证明我的签字是真的？真要是这样的话，何不直接在国内结婚登记时直接签单身证明（这样的签名是最真实的了吧），何必用繁琐的认证（或公证）手续来证明？（最后一段我就是好奇，达人们有情趣就指点一下。）
除了单身声明，还有别的要准备的没有？
