I have two more questions for my son. He is a college student with an F1 status. From this semester, he started his part-time TA work on campus (2 hours a week). Now he has a green card.
What does he have to do to his college?
-Just tell the International Student office that he is a permanent resident, not more an international student (show the green card). Thus, he will never be subjected to the limitation for the F1 student.
I think that he needs to inform the college because his TA job is based on his F1 student status. That is right?
-Nothing needed to do for his job. He can do any job on-campus or off-campus from now on.
The second is that we did not inform the college for his I485 application when we filed it. If we tell this to the college now, could it cause any problem? I worry that during his I485 pending (past two months), he was still working on his part-time TA on campus.
Is this working legal?
-Yes. I-485 filing does not affect his F1 student status.
I am wondering what his status is during his I-485 pending. F1 or AOS?
-His status was F1 before the I-485 approval.
