我是公司已经开始办理绿卡，很快就要递交PERM申请。我现在想换到别的部门，虽然还是土木工程师，应用同样的技能，但工作的对象有变化，现在是做transportation的项目，想去的部门做污水处理的项目。在我担心，到新的部门是否又要重新打广告等等。

因为原来的广告略有侧重于transportation项目方面的工程经验，而新的职位可能会要求在污水处理项目方面的经验－－当然，因为同样是土木工程师，总的工作技能要求是一致的。

请指点，我什么时候换到新岗位合适，现在？还是perm递交以后，或是更后？再次感谢！
-PERM is position specific. You can not use the PERM for another position for your GC application. But you do not need file another PERM if you will come back to work with the PERM position some day later (e.g. after you get the GC). In this case, you can change your job whenever you want. But if you will not come back to work with your current/PERM position, you need to advertise a new PERM position and file the PERM for your new position.

Another case is that if you filed I-485 for > 180 days, you can change job/position within the same/silimar area. Obviously, it is not your case by this time.
