我今年年初被雷了，从H1B转成了B2 身份。我的B2这个月 9月25号过期，现在有个postdoc的offer。可是今天那个学校负责H1B的人告诉我说：Obtain Prevailing Wage from the state Dept of Economic Development 可能会需要俩个礼拜，所以可能到
10月初才可以file我的H1B申请。现在有俩个问题:

1)Obtain Prevailing Wage from the state Dept of Economic Development 为什么需要这么久？
-Yes, USCIS changed the rule recently, so it takes about two weeks to LCA (not prevail salary)which is necessary for the H1 petition.

有没有什么办法可以快些。
-No.

2）如果真的要到10月初才可以file我的H1B申请的话，这之间会有1-2 个礼拜的gap，我的H1B申请还会批吗？
-Mostl likely, Yes, because USCIS usually is not strict in this issue. The worst, you h1 petition is still approved, but it may have not I-94. If so, you just go outside of U.S. (Canada, Mexico or China) to get an H1 visa and come back to activate your H1 status.
