Also we got married after I filed 140/485. We never had a chance to add her to my application. So I guess if I can't get H1, she has to keeep her legal status on her own.
-You are absolutely right. She can apply for OPT and then change her status to H1 someday later. This is the best way and I do not think it will be difficult for her to keep her own status until your PD becomes current.
