Do you happen to know if applying for visa requires air tickets to be purchased? I checked KLM, the ticket is quite more expensive than other airlines.

I wonder if this would work out: provide a itinerary from U.S. to Amsterdam for visa application, but don't pay for it. And later on purchase the tickets to Greece instead, using Schengen visa to Greece. Would that work?
