很难预测。但我就如此试过。欧洲各国好像都不是很介意你还未买票。这是荷兰领事馆网站上的原话：
Important: if you are not sure that your visa will be approved, do not buy an airline ticket yet, bring a confirmed airline reservation which can be cancelled.

在此前一段，他们强调 Proof that you can proceed to the next country after you have visited the Schengen countries。 显然你会安然回到美国，显然你也能从荷兰去希腊。所以，你只要给他们一份打印好的itinerery 就可以。

只要你能证明你不会stuck in Holland, or Schengen area, 你不买票也行。

另外，这是西班牙领事馆的一句话： Official itinerary or airplane ticket for the entire trip (in order to apply for the visa, you do not have to purchase the airplane ticket, but you must have a reservation showing confirmed names and dates of travel). 我相信，洛杉矶有很多欧洲领事馆，不一定非要取道荷兰领事馆。有的领事馆规定松一些，就可以拿到签证而少费事(e.g., portugal)。各国都允许transit 签证。

退一万步，如果他们看你没买票想拒你，他们就不会收你的申请和钱，所以，你总还有招。
