Question: Just called TSC using POJ method, but

After a few mintues' wait a female picked up the phone. I thought she is the customer service rep and told her I'd like to check on my 485 case status. She said I should call 1-800 number instead. I realized she is an immigration officer. She refused to check for me though. My questions is - should I keep calling this afternoon and hope to run into a nicer IO who will take a look at my case? My name check is still pending and my PD is current and it's already past the processing date. Anyone can share your experience in how to deal with them? Thank you!
