485 approved today after contacting congressman's office

Just got an email from USCIS about the approval of I 485. Very happy, thanks for all the informations posted and shared by everyone here.

Below is my application timeline:


Application Date: end of December,2006
RD: Within a week
FP: January, 2007
AP and EAD approved: end of February, 2007
Interview: mid April, 2007
......(no updated online of I485 since RD)
went for an infopass appointment in June, was told I was still under NC

I started to call my local congressman office a week ago. The lady there was very friendly and called somebody right away during our meeting. I did not know who she called. anyway, she called me back in the same day and told me I am still under NC and they could not interfere with FBI...sounds very dissapointing, isn't it? well, today my I 485 got approved. I do not know if it is just coincidence of the time or the call from Congressman's office helped. don't know how FBI system works. I guess at least it does not hurt to contact congresman if you worry about your NC. You pay the tax, they'd better help you.

Good luck, everyone. Call the Congresman if you have not heard anything in four or six months.
