google NY city hall or court of NY probably you will find some useful information or phone numbe , then you can call to ask what is the legal process of getting married in NY.
sounds like you are brand new to this country so better to know how to protect youself if any unpredicted things happy. marriage based GC is also a high risk investment . you never know where it eneds.
