this is very common RFE, my experience,
1)Provide more recommendation letters, if possible from NIH or big names.
2)Dig as many as citations you have, add the background if the cited author is big name,
as long as you provide more strong contribution to the field, the LC question is easy to be understood,

NSC is a tuff, good luck
