I think you should have a fingerprint notice which bears singatures of the clerks of immigration office when you finished the fingerprint. At least two clerks have signed that notice (one did fingerprint for you and the other checked the validity of fingerprint). You can use that as a proof to go to local office to get help as the upstair's lawyer suggested or write to USCIS directly with a copy of that notice. You may do both ways at the same time.
