No, it's not necessary for you to report all of your monetary asset as long as you have a bank statement/verification letter to verify you have some money in US. The immigration officer didn't ask us any questions about our financial status at all, they even didn't take a look at our bank statement when we landed at Vancouver. Of course, the more money you report, the happier they will feel - This is only what I guess :-)....
