I feel the same. I have stayed in Shanghai, California, London and Hong Kong, sometime I compared those cities. . I think people and corporations in HK treat the economic benefits as highest priority. The shopping malls look the same. The city lacks personality. If I were born here, I may like the city better. Now after I came to this city for 7 years, I still have no much affection. I read the newspaper. it said my family income ranked top 5% in HK, I still didn't feel the freedom of using money compared to the time in US. But after I stayed in London and other cities for several month, I began to like the cities. I think HK is manipulated by big corporations. The streets, the shopping mall, the office building are all designed by them. People are like small insects waking and living in the building and tunnels. The real estate corporation are drinking blood from the working groups in the city.
