我现在拿的是新加坡人的h1b1 工作签证。公司支持我申请outstanding researcher 类别的绿卡。我的律师说我可以直接从h1b1申请绿卡。是真的吗?
-Yes, but if you apply for the green card, you can not extend your H1B1 status anymore after your current H1B1 expires. So, you need to get the EAD to work if you can file I-485. But if you were born in Mainland China and your EB1B I-140 is denied, you will have a problem to stay and work in US. So, you had better to change your status to H1B in this case.
据我所知，h1b1是non immigration visa. 要先换成h1b才能申请绿卡。
