Our H1B is gonna expired end of Sept. My dad came U.S once and went back to China timely. The second time, he got B2 visa approved, but he didn't come here. That was one year ago. For right now,

in our such situation, can my dad still likely get B2 visa approved?

-Yes, I think so.

My mom went back to China on her B2 visa timely on the first time. On second time, I applied extension of her stay, but got denied, and she overstayed about 5 months. Can she still likely get B2 visa approved now?

-She may have a problem due to her overstay, but just try and you never know. Of course, she needs to find some kind of excuses to justify her overstay in case the VO asks this question.
