NO. Are you saying that if people files I-485, then her/his status can only be I-485 pending, s/he can't remain in H-1B status?

Please note that 7th year H-1B is based on 365 days after filing of LC, in another words, LC is either approved or still pending. My client got his 7th H-1B after his LC was approved.
