The "Big Beautiful Bill" passed by Congress, which President Trump signed into law, effectively ends the federal tax credit for electric vehicles (EVs). Specifically, the $7,500 credit for new EVs and $4,000 credit for used EVs will no longer be available for vehicles purchased after September 30, 2025. This means that to claim the credit, you must purchase and take delivery of the EV before the end of September.
