10y bond is the benchmark point

Typically, lenders will add a spread (1.5 to 2%) on top of this benchmark.

The reason we keep talking about 20Y bond is that TLT is a collection of bonds with 17yr average maturity, and hence 20Y bond is the closest reference point

Otherwise, 20Y bond has no significant meanings
