We were recently notified by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”) that you have not responded to a recent request to register on its Portal related to being a large trader. The CFTC will request additional information from a trader when the trader reaches certain reportable position limits in their account.  You can view these reportable numbers on the CFTC’s website: http://www.cftc.gov/IndustryOversight/MarketSurveillance/LargeTraderReportingProgram/index.htm. This information is under Large Trader Data; click the CFTC Regulation 15.03(b) link.

 

To enter the information requested by the CFTC, please go to https://portal.cftc.gov.  You will need to register as a Large Trader (LTR), Submission Type, Form 40. After you have registered, you will receive an email with your username and password. You will then need to go back into the portal to complete the information. The account setup process with the CFTC may take one to two business days. Attached are the instructions provided by the CFTC.
