1929年股市崩溃前一天，Yale经济系某教授（算得上经济学家吧）说， "Stock prices have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau."，还说过“America had entered a new era of limitless prosperity“。最后这著名经济学输得差点连房子都没有（Yale大学出面把抵押的房子买回来了，否则他种将成为Yale大学第一位无家可归的终身教授 :-)）. 这经济学家叫Irving Fisher，在经济学上很有点名气，在那个时代是经济学上的泰山北斗。
