I am a prop trader for a New York based firm in Chicago. Don't give up the conviction on the systems you developed just because of someone else's doubt. When you think your strategy or system is ready for production, you could try to join a prop firm. Some firms can sponsor you to take the series 56 exam, then let you trade their account on a 20-50 time day trade margin, with your own risk capital as little as 5,000. Other non-prop firms, some in Chicago, do not need risk capital from you, if you can past their required simulation trading for a few weeks on a paper account, following their strict risk and trading guidelines. So don't give up, make your strategy consistent at high winning ratio and start kicking ass soon. Cheers and happy trading!
You might want to try prop trading or trade company sponsored ac
