"城市沿海,繁荣得很"

don't know if I'd agree... a lot of buildings, but I suspect the real investment return. Too much capital infusion right now to see if it's real performance or just temporary sugar rush.

tried to do a small business in Shanghai. Very very hard, unbelieveable if you are used to law and order here. Yes that is Shanghai. It is not picture perfect at all.

but a lot of progress for sure. I tend to agree the real GDP is under-reported. Most of my family still lives in countryside in north Jiangsu. Last time I was visiting there, some neighbors are making building materials such as pre-fab concrete board etc. I assume the GDP increase for those are in the area of 10000% for that matter. My uncle is raising somewhat 30000 chickens last year, and the plan for next year is 100000, so yes I can testify that once the doors are open, a lot of hard working people, even if they are in countryside, have hope. We take one step at a time.

last Friday my boss came to my desk, and he asked my opinion on his son's plan to go studying in China.
The son has a vision that China is shifting in a consumer economy and wants to be part of a historical transformation.

very touching article. It's great to see you have such sharp eyes. You will do great in stock market with those observation skills if not already so.
